Animals wearing....

One trend I have noticed lately is animals of all types wearing fancy clothes and doing fancy things. Just what are they up to? Seems a little suspicious to me, but I also like it! I made a treasury on Etsy the other day about animals wearing top hats and then it just got out of control.

What animal treasuries can you come up with?

New Creatures

I have been working on cards with paper flowers. I got to thinking, how can this translate into my OTHER hobby of sock creatures?

So after some experiments I came up with a flower made out of socks and made into a headband or neck flower.

I haven't been able to name this new creature, so if you have a suggestion I would love to hear it. For now I just call her "TBD"

This one is a Zwid creature, made even prettier!

These are some variations on this project. Comment and let me know if you be interested in step by step instructions.
Thank you for stopping by!

Must See Etsy Shop - Cookstah Fine Art

I have been kinda obsessed with this Etsy shop lately so I wanted to share it. Cookstah Fine Art has original mixed media art, prints, custom art and stickers.

So of course I think my dog is the cutest in the whole world, so I sent a picture in and in just a few days I had a completed piece of art to approve.

In addition to making custom portraits, there are fun and beautiful prints and originals.

So one more cool thing, Cookstah is offering a coupon code for 20% off any custom dog portrait. Use Coupon Code JWALKING4DOGS

A few of my favorite Etsy Shops

Click on each picture to go directly to that shop!

Breed Profile: Cornish Rex (aka Princess Khaleah)

I often get asked by people:
"what type of cat is that?"
"what is wrong with that cat?" and
"IS that a cat?".
The answers are:
"She is a Cornish Rex cat"
"There is nothing wrong with her she is beautiful"
"Of course it's a cat, dummy".

Her name is Khaleah (pronounced KA-LEE-AH) and she is a Cornish Rex breed of cat.

They started as a natural occuring mutation in which the cat never developed the outer layer of hair. So they only have the soft curly undercoat. They are very playful and not very "cat-like". They are cold and like to be in blankets and in your lap all the time.

Once you start petting her, you can't stop because she is so so soft.

Click HERE to see her in action in a video.

Cold Cold Puppies!

My baby puppy (he isn't really a baby) has been so so cold the last few days. By the time I figure out what to dress him in, the cold snap will be over.

These are the best things I found browsing Etsy for keeping your puppy warm. Be sure to check out this treasury to visit these great shops.

Of course some of these things just keep your puppy looking good, not so much warm.

Which is your favorite??

New Technique - Paper Flowers

I have wanted to make these paper flowers for some time now. If you go to You Tube and search for paper flower instructions and there are lots of great videos that can teach you. They are surprisingly easy to make and you can make them in lots of different sizes.

One thing to keep in mind is that the flowers end up being somewhat tall so might not be the best for mailing on a card.

Here are some I have been making:

Now go create!

Vintage on Etsy

Just want to share some of the wonderful vintage shops on Etsy. If you love vintage, be sure to check out these shops. I know I want them ALL!

Click HERE to visit this treasury on Etsy. From there you can browse these shops and more...One of the best Christmas gifts I got this year was a pair of Vintage Owl Salt and Pepper shakers. They inspired me to look for more vintage S&P shakers. These are some very retro cool ones.
