New Blog for Brides!

Since I have been selling so many of my wedding theme cards on Etsy, I have decided to launch a new blog dedicated to wedding color combos inspired by my card orders. It will also have cool Etsy wedding finds and wedding theme treasury. Please join me there too! Don't worry I will still keep blogging here about Etsy, Sock Creatures, card making and whatever I randomly think about.

The new blog is called "Be My Bridesmaid"
Happy Halloween!

Etsy Inspired Challenge #100 & Embellish Magazine

Quick Announcement! I am doing my first Blog Giveaway, you can enter HERE. The prize is a card package from my Etsy shop. Not many have entered yet so you have a good chance to win!

Now on to the Challenge!
Congrats to Etsy inspired blog for their 100th challenge! Participating in these challenges has helped me so much in "unblocking" a clogged creative pipe in my head. Thank you for providing these great challenges and introducing me to such great Etsy Shops!
I wanted to do a combined challenge. I wanted to be true to both challenges (which is a challenge in itself). So this week I combined with a great challenge from Embellish Magazine. See their great blog HERE.

My Card:

For the Etsy Inspired challenge the shop is Cathy Walters. She makes super cute pendants. All the items were so beautiful I actually picked more than one for inspiration.

Embellish Magazine's challenge was this gorgeous color pallet and birds.

I am especially proud of this card because I actually scanned in a bird image from a bird field guide I bought at half price books for $2. I combined it with a beautiful font I have and printed it on watercolor paper. I am really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for taking a look. Be sure to check out my Etsy Shop!

Combined Challenge - PDCC36 and CPS 174

I decided to combine two challenges today. This is my first time entering The Play Date Cafe challenge.

So The Play Date Cafe has a great color challenge this week of Pink, Red and White:

Also check out the Card Positioning System Challenge. Using sketches is a great way to get inspired:

Unfortunately this card didn't photograph very well. But here it is!

Thanks for taking a look! Be sure to check out my Etsy Shop! That is where most of my challenge cards end up.

So from this shop my inspiration is:

Doesn't that cupcake look happy? I would look happy eating a cupcake! So for my birthday I want loads of cupcakes...

10 Cards in 10 Weeks - Week 6 and 7 - Preppy inspired cards

I fell behind with my preppy inspired challenge so this post include week 6 and week 7! To see how Elle is doing on her "What Preppy Wore" Challenge click HERE.

Elle is moving away very soon so each card signifies one week closer to her departure. We went shopping this weekend and she got some super cute outfits, but she can't wear them for her challenge because her rules say she can't wear anything new. (maybe I can talk her into breaking that rule, because she bought a maxi dress that is super cute!)

To Recap click these links to see Card 1, Card 2, Card 3, Card 4 and Card 5

Anyway... Here is inspiration for week #6 chosen by Elle:

Etsy Inspired Challenge #87 and 10 followers

I am super excited for two reasons.

1. I have 10 followers! Thanks everyone for taking the time to stop by.
2. The Etsy inspired challenge this week was for a beautiful shop called Lindsay Brackeen

I am very thankful that I found the Etsy Inspired Challenge Blog. It combines my two favorite things: Etsy and Paper crafting! To find out more about the challenge click the link above.

This week's shop has the most beautiful prints. They really got me inspired and it was hard to choose one for inspiration. But this is the one I loved the most.

This is my card:

I couldn't get the blue just right. I absolutely love the blue in the Lindsay Brackeen print. I still love the results! I have posted this card in my Etsy shop MD Cards and Gifts.

Thanks for stopping by!
