Etsy Inspired Challenge #100 & Embellish Magazine

Quick Announcement! I am doing my first Blog Giveaway, you can enter HERE. The prize is a card package from my Etsy shop. Not many have entered yet so you have a good chance to win!

Now on to the Challenge!
Congrats to Etsy inspired blog for their 100th challenge! Participating in these challenges has helped me so much in "unblocking" a clogged creative pipe in my head. Thank you for providing these great challenges and introducing me to such great Etsy Shops!
I wanted to do a combined challenge. I wanted to be true to both challenges (which is a challenge in itself). So this week I combined with a great challenge from Embellish Magazine. See their great blog HERE.

My Card:

For the Etsy Inspired challenge the shop is Cathy Walters. She makes super cute pendants. All the items were so beautiful I actually picked more than one for inspiration.

Embellish Magazine's challenge was this gorgeous color pallet and birds.

I am especially proud of this card because I actually scanned in a bird image from a bird field guide I bought at half price books for $2. I combined it with a beautiful font I have and printed it on watercolor paper. I am really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for taking a look. Be sure to check out my Etsy Shop!

Etsy Treasury, Etsy Front Page & Craftopolis

Bragging Alert!

Etsy Treasuries are working for me lately! I was included in a treasury that made it to the front page. It was my Bird on a cupcake card. My views dramatically increased! I also got to use the "This item was on the front page of Etsy" button on my item! Yipee!

My page views on this day were way more than I usually get! It was on July 4th. If you are wondering what this screen shot is, it is Craftopolis analytics that tracks Etsy sales and other things. I like it even more than Google Analytics.

Next cool thing I made a Treasury call "Notions" and it was featured on the front page!
It got 58 comments (I usually get like 10 tops). I don't know if you can see from the screen shot. But several items were sold the day the treasury made the front page. This really makes me feel good about making treasuries and helping other Etsy folks get exposure.

Ok so last thing to brag about... Since these two events people have been including me in their treasuries. I am currently included in 4 treasuries! Again this screen shot is from Craftopolis.

So to sum it up... Make treasuries! It is fun and helps out your fellow artists and crafters. AND make sure to check out Craftopolis.

My first Non-Sock sewing job! (not too good)

Pulled out the sewing machine today to create an "outfit" for my sock creature. One of my co-workers is very sick and I wanted to give her a creature. I call her the "Alpha Male" of the office so we thought it would be funny to give it some camo.

I went to the Goodwill store looking for some Camo fabric. I found this old hunting vest. I washed it and it had something crinkly inside. Apparently the crinkly stuff broke apart and got all over the dryer (that is another story)

So I liked the cool pockets on the vest (Jeff says they are for your shot gun shells). So I ended up making it into a romper. Thank goodness it is supposed to look a little "off".... because it does. His new name is "Mobile Romper Unit Alpha"

I will probably put some very girly things in these pockets for my co-worker. Like lip gloss and nail polish. I mean he is wearing a ROMPER for goodness sake!

Thanks for taking a look!
